About TSR

The Thunderbolt Ski Runners is a non-profit ski and snowboard club located in Adams, Massachusetts. The club was established in 2008 by a group of northern Berkshire outdoor sport enthusiasts who share a common love for Mount Greylock and the Thunderbolt Ski Run. Its members are united by a common mission: "To preserve the integrity and continue the legacy of the Thunderbolt Ski Run".

  • Manager of Berkshire Outfitters, Ski and Bike Mechanic
  • Enjoys long canoe paddles through the Adirondacks or going to Moab to mt. bike or rock climb.
  • Enjoys traveling to ski destinations that he has never been to.
  • Favorite memories include living in Girg’s Skamper at Alpine Meadows California or going to Chamonix and Zermat with some pretty rad dudes.

Jess Kiernan

  • Studying and working as a bartender at Jiminy Peak
  • Enjoys all outdoor sports, music and art
  • Played as an extra in the movie Taking Woodstock
 

Paula Melville

Treasurer
Snowshoeing on Mt. Greylock
  • Substitute teacher, weekend library circulation assistant
  • Enjoys adventures with her children, reading, walking, woody plants, popular American music, needlework, and tennis
  • Serves on the Finance Committee of the Town of Adams, Mass; certified reader for Recording the Blind and Dyslexic.
  • Hopes to someday finish her slideshow on the historic trees of Massachusetts.

Attempts to telemark, but mostly this could be classified as field investigations into the gravitational variations among massive geologic features

  • Performed research while at UMass-Amherst regarding what type of songs turn birds on.
  • Enjoys wine making and electronic music production.

Heather Linscott

Volunteer Coordinator
Backcountry Skiing and Snowshoeing
  • Fitness teacher at Berkshire Arts and Technology Charter Public School.
  • Enjoys backcountry skiing on Mt. Greylock, Vermont, the White Mountains and Colorado. Sea Kayak camping in Sitka Alaska, and around Isle Au Haut, Mount Desert Island, and the Penobscot River in Maine. Also enjoys hiking and backpacking in the White Mountains and the Chilkoot Trail in Alaska.
  • Ran the Mt. Greylock-Go-Round for seven years and the Vermont 50 Race for three years (running the last one when she turned 50).
  • Other interests include road and mountain biking, white water canoeing and walking in the woods of Savoy with her dog.
  • Daughter of Thunderbolt legend Bill Linscott.

Conrad "Sid" Sidway

Trail Crew
Backcountry Skiing, Alpine Skiing, and Nordic Skiing
  • Retired (and loving it)
  • USAF veteran, Vietnam
  • Adirondack 46er & winter 46er, also has climbed the majority of mountains in the White and Catskill ranges, as well as some of the 14,000 footers in Colorado, Mount Hood in Oregon, and Mt. Shasta in California.
  • Enjoys studying the Civil War and Native American history, hiking, biking, fishing, wild Orchids and nature.
  • Believes you should do all you can do before they throw dirt on you.
